Gabriela first came to The Family Center/ La Familia when her second child started having difficulty speaking. She met with one of our Family Support & Strengthening coordinators through one of our programs, PAT ( Parents as Teachers). Through PAT, Gabriela learned useful exercises that allowed her to help her child’s speech flourish. Later, Gabriela found other opportunities for support and growth at The Family Center/ La Familia. Her kids attended El Nidito, our early childhood education program, where they were met with quality teachers and a staff that spoke their language; who understood the importance of a parent feeling that their child is being loved and cared for while they are at work. Through the years, Gabriela has attended car seat classes, Incredible Years seminars and has taken advantage of the summer family passes so that her kids can enjoy fun summer activities and sports.

The work TFC/LF provides has helped us in so many ways, one of them has been giving us the tools to connect better as a family and being able to spend time together doing fun activities.
