Family Support Services

Family Development

Per the Family Resource Center Association’s definition, Family Development Services is a research-based family-centered support model that centers on families establishing an intensive goal-setting partnership with a trained family development worker.  Family Development is a universal-access model that is appropriate for any family who identifies an unmet need and voluntarily enrolls in this wrap-around case management service. Annual evaluations demonstrate positive and meaningful growth in economic security and in areas that protect against child abuse and neglect.

Parents as Teachers (PAT)

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an evidence-based early childhood home visiting model that promotes the best early development, learning, and health of children by supporting and engaging their parents/caregivers as their child’s first teacher. Working with families from pregnancy through kindergarten PAT reduces isolation and connects families to resources by promoting social connections. The model also includes hearing/vision screenings in young children and referrals to health care providers for appropriate follow up.

The Incredible Years

This Evidence-based program is designed to support a child’s success at school and at home by promoting positive parent, teacher, and child relationships. During the 14-week series parents/caregivers will acquire the tools to address school performance, reduce child behavior problems, promote positive and consistent discipline and support caregivers through a holistic approach involving children, parents and teachers. This program is offered in Spanish once a year in the fall.
