Family Support Services
Family Development
Per the Family Resource Center Association’s definition, Family Development Services is a research-based family-centered support model that centers on families establishing an intensive goal-setting partnership with a trained family development worker. Family Development is a universal-access model that is appropriate for any family who identifies an unmet need and voluntarily enrolls in this wrap-around case management service. Annual evaluations demonstrate positive and meaningful growth in economic security and in areas that protect against child abuse and neglect.
Our Family Support Services Programs:
Car Seat Safety Classes
In partnership with Safe Kids Northern Colorado and with the support of UCHealth our Family Coordinators offer these classes in Spanish and provide parents/children with an infant car seat or booster.
Health Equity & Resiliency
At The Family Center/La Familia, we believe that a thriving community is one where everyone has access to the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to increase their wellbeing. Whether in times of peace or disaster, our center is responsive to the community’s needs. We not only serve as a family resource center but also as a resilience hub, offering vital services to residents in partnership with local government and responding organizations. Our team works and advocates to reduce health disparities among local families which include access to basic needs, preventative services such as vaccination clinics, oral health screenings, education for youth and adults on crucial topics such as financial health, budgeting and digital equity. For many years our team has promoted access to outdoor activities during the summer season to increase connection with nature and has started initiatives to increase awareness around environmental issues and sustainability.
Energy Outreach Colorado
Eligible families in Larimer County can receive financial assistance once a year to pay for their utility bills when funding is available.
