The school year is ending soon, which means one thing: summer! We know many of you are looking for things to do this summer to entertain young children. We’ve compiled a list of summer camps and activities for children in Northern Colorado happening summer 2021.

Little Angels and Pony Pals

Children will have the opportunity to groom, saddle, ride, and feed ponies. Lunch and craft time are included, as well as a visit to the petting zoo with mini donkeys, mini pigs, bunnies, and dwarf goats.

Fort Collins School of Rock Rookies Camp

Beginners will learn about different rock instruments and begin their introduction to music theory and appreciation.

Playcrafter Kids Camp

Camps are rooted in musical theater with an emphasis on drama, music, dance, and crafts to teach confidence, emotional regulation, self awareness, teamwork, and collaboration.

Literacy Together Super Reader Camp

Literacy Together uses a multisensory approach to give strategies to students with dyslexia or who struggle with reading and writing. Camps are also available for older children.

Sproutin’ Up Farm Camp

Kids will learn about plants, bugs, pollination, crops, and farm animals. Facility includes hiking trails, a playground, and fishing.

When: June 21-25 or August 2-6; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily

Colorado State University K-12 Youth Sport Camps

Active summer fun for kids 5-13 years old is provided by the university all summer long. There are 16 sports to choose from, with camps ranging from one week to four weeks long, and payment is per week.

Where: Varies – CSU Main Campus, CSU Mountain Campus, and Fort Collins Country Club

When: Summerlong day camps; May 25-August 13, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for most camps (tennis, golf, and special adventure camp times vary)

Cost: All one-week camps except tennis and golf are $190 per child. Tennis, golf, and longer camps available ranging from $75-415. $50 deposit required for all camps. Early bird registration discount available before May 7.

Edge Sports Center Multi-Sport Day Camp

Grades K-5 will learn the basics of 2-5 different sports every day. For each sport, children will receive an explanation of field layout, equipment and rules and have a chance to put these into practice with small games.

Rivendell School Summer Enrichment Programs

Programs are open to all children – need not be students of Rivendell. Preschool camps accommodate kids 3-4 years old and run 4 or 5 days each all summer. Topics and themes change with each camp. Camps for older children are also available.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Larimer County Summer Program

Boys and Girls Clubs provide academic and physical enrichment with arts and recreation. Programs are designed to be low cost and available to all. Financial assistance is available. Donations are encouraged.

City of Fort Collins Camp FunQuest

This state-licensed childcare program keeps children engaged when school is out of session. Unique activities including games, crafts, S.T.E.M., and field trips are designed with childrens’ age and developmental stage in mind.

When: Programs operate Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

A monthly, self-guided walking tour in downtown Fort Collins the first Friday of each month from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. From fine to funky, First Friday Art Walk showcases a spectrum of artistic styles to entertain and engage amateurs and art aficionado of all ages, interests and backgrounds.

Magical and Mythical Animals in Human Imagination Exhibit

The exhibition will highlight the visions of magical creatures through the eyes of children around the world. The drawings were selected from more than 160 artworks submitted by children from 12 different countries. The Museum is open with free admission by appointment Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are available for up to five people in a group.
