Born and raised in Mexico, Gloria migrated to the US in 2005 to form a family. Gloria has a background in Communication Studies and Human Services. She is currently serving as the Executive Director at The Family Center/La Familia in Fort Collins and she was formerly the Family Support Services Director. Gloria believes that through collaboration, education and support our community will continue to prosper and gain a sense of belonging. As a bilingual professional she is highly focused on advocacy and equity. She is continuously strengthening community relations, with the ultimate goal to narrowing the gap between systems and people.

During the pandemic, La Familia has supported the community by hosting COVID-19 testing clinics, and recently with drive thru vaccination clinics, in collaboration with the health department. Through the recently created Promotora program (Community Health Worker) the north Fort Collins communities are receiving additional support and information to address vaccine hesitancy as well as education around eviction prevention and housing stability.

As a former parent of the Family Center’s early childhood program, she understands the multiple challenges faced by working parents and the need to create sustainable partnerships to support the childcare system and enhance the workforce. Gloria also worked as the Community Information and Technology manager at the United Way of Larimer County. Throughout her professional life she has acquired a vast field experience working alongside with Latinx families in Larimer County. She lives in Fort Collins with her husband Patrick, their two daughters Yvonne and Sofia, and two cats.
