At the end of another remarkable year, we are reflecting on some of the highlights from 2023. This year has been filled with achievements, strengthening our programs and our community. As we ring in the new year, we celebrate the growth and impact of the last year.
Graduates went on to Kindergarten
Eight bright, enthusiastic children graduate from El Nidito in the spring, prepared to begin Kindergarten in the fall. The growth and development from early childhood education greatly improves their trajectory for success in the next stage of their education.
BELONG Unites our Community
Our spring BELONG event brought together over 200 guests for an afternoon of festive fellowship and fun. Attendees enjoyed music from Widespread Hispanic, delicious treats from food trucks, face painting, balloon art, and more.
New Infant Playground
Thanks to the generosity of a donor, we proudly inaugurated a new infant playground. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place during our BELONG event, symbolizing the continuous growth and commitment to providing a nurturing environment for our youngest learners.
Mi Voz Shines on 9News
The Mi Voz program was featured on the 9News segment, Word of Thanks with Kyle Clark. The spotlight brought with it extra exposure and donations from supporters, reinforcing the value our work has for the community in Northern Colorado and beyond.
Fiesta Fundraiser Finds Success
Our annual fall Fiesta Fundraiser at the Lyric Cinema Cafe was a resounding success, raising over $40,000. The evening was filled with lively music from Salsa Forte, delicious food, refreshing margaritas, and the excitement of a chance to win an evening at Casa Bonita among other great auction prizes.
Launching Educational Opportunities
We helped to develop and launch early childhood education classes in Spanish at Front Range Community College. This initiative aims to elevate the opportunities for Spanish-speaking students to become early childhood educators.
Strengthening Partnerships & Expanding Services
Throughout the year, we fostered new and long-standing partnerships from organizations big and small around the Front Range. These collaborations enhance the breadth and depth of our services, ensuring that La Familia continues to be a pillar of support for our community.
In addition to our long-standing programs, we introduced new initiatives such as Bridges to Healthy Minds mental health classes, further addressing the holistic needs of our community.
The Family Center / La Familia remains committed to expanding services for young children and their families. As we turn the page on 2023, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our community, partners, and supporters. Your dedication and collaboration have made this year a tremendous success, and we look forward to continued growth, learning, and unity in the years to come. Together, we are building a brighter future for the children and families we serve. Happy New Year!
